Domestic Violence Offender Treatment

Domestic Violence Evaluation & Treatment Program

At Dove Counseling, Inc., we provide comprehensive domestic violence evaluations and structured treatment plans for individuals convicted of domestic violence offenses. Our program operates under the guidelines of the Colorado Domestic Violence Offender Management Board (DVOMB) and is facilitated exclusively by DVOMB-approved providers who adhere to established standards of care.

Our primary goal is to reduce the risk of re-offense through a personalized approach that emphasizes:

  • Personal accountability

  • Enhanced coping strategies

  • Building healthy relationships

  • Sustained sobriety

  • Elimination of power and control behaviors

Following a mandatory evaluation by an approved provider, participants are placed into Level A, B, or C treatment categories based on the specific charges received and information gathered during the evaluation. The program includes:

  • Weekly domestic violence group therapy sessions

  • Additional individual or group sessions as determined by treatment level

  • Ongoing treatment plan reviews every 8–12 weeks

Successful program completion requires a minimum of 2–3 treatment plan reviews, ensuring measurable progress and readiness for discharge
